Willis Earl Moses, Jr. 95, of Stowe passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 29th, 2021 with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of the late Virginia L. (Lewis) Moses.
Born in Pughtown on September 20, 1925, he was the son of the late Willis Earl, Sr. and Sudie (Sheller) Moses and stepmother, Ethel Moses. He was a 1943 graduate of the former Spring City High School now known as Spring Ford High School. He was a member of St. Paul's UCC in Pottstown.
Willis faithfully served our country in the US Navy during WWII. His tour was primarily in the Pacific and European Theater. He Honorably discharged with the Victory Medal in 1946.
He was employed with Firestone Tire and Rubber Co for 30 years, Occidental Chemical Co. for 12 years where he retired in 1988. In retirement, he drove school bus for Owen J Roberts School District where he formed fatherly relationships with many of the students.
Willis was a member of the Elks in Pottstown and Twin Ponds Golf Course. He enjoyed golfing, doing the cryptograms in the paper after reading it from front to back and to "play the ponies". His motto was "when it's time to go, it's time to go."
Surviving are two sons, Robert and his wife, Alice (Zeigler) Moses of Stowe and Thomas and his wife, Deborah (Seyler) Moses of Fort Wayne, IN; seven grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are son-in-law, Richard Kunsch, Sr., two brothers-in-law, Samuel Lewis and Ben Lewis sister-in-law, Betty Moses.
In addition to his wife and parents, Willis is predeceased by two daughters, Carolyn Jane (Moses) Kunsch and Nancy Faye Moses; a great grandson, Matthew Walk, II; a brother, Charles Moses and two sisters, Virginia (Moses) wife of the late Gilbert Smith and Flora (Moses) Olinger.
Services for Willis will be Friday, May 7th, 2021 at 10am in Warker~Troutman Funeral Home, Inc. 726 E High St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10am in the funeral home on Friday. Willis will be laid to rest beside his sweetheart, Virginia in Parker-Ford Baptist Church Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
