Thomas "Tom" William Ziemak of Gilbertsville, PA passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 12th, 2017 at the age of 59. Tom was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) on May 12, 2015. His family and friends, the "Z" Strong crew, supported him every step of the way through his journey and battle with ALS. He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years and high school sweetheart, Chrissy (Jones) Ziemak, daughter Erin M. Ziemak, and son Michael T. Ziemak and his wife Becky Ziemak all of Gilbertsville, PA. He is also survived by his two sisters, Judie Hughes (Kevin Hughes) and Patti Fauls (Joe Fauls) both of Collegeville, PA. Tom was the uncle and great uncle to several nieces and nephews. Tom was born on May 30th, 1957 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Raymond S. Ziemak and Jeanne C. (Hermanns) Ziemak. He graduated from St. Pius X High School in 1975, where he was a standout quarterback for the Winged Lions. He also excelled in baseball and basketball and was considered an outstanding amateur golfer. Tom was a member of Brookside Country Club of Pottstown, PA. He was inducted into the Class of 2014 Tri-County Sports Hall of Fame for being one of the best all-around athletes ever at St. Pius. Tom worked at GSK for 22 years before his most recent employment as Director of Inside Sales at Evan's Delivery in Schuylkill Haven, PA Tom loved with his whole heart. He was a family man who lived his days to be the best husband and father to his two children. He was a friend to everyone; passionate about helping others in need. You were never in his shadow but under his wing. One of his callings in life was being a coach. Tom coached St. Aloysius boys basketball, Boyertown Little League Baseball, Boyertown Biddy Basketball, and Norchester Football. He spent the final two years of his life as the quarterback coach for the Perkiomen School Football Team. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 16th at St. Columbkill Church: 200 Indian Spring Road, Boyertown, PA at 10 AM-12:15 P.M. Mass will begin at 12:30 P.M. Interment will be held at Limerick Garden of Memories: 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA following Mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Penn Comprehensive ALS Center: 330 South 9th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107 in memory of Tom Ziemak.
