Thomas G. Roberts

Thomas G. Roberts, 91, Music Director Thomas G. Roberts Jr, 91, of Stowe, PA passed at his home surrounded by his loving family on January 16, 2019. Born in Pottstown, PA, he was the son of the late Tommaso and Maria (Mammarella) Roberts. Tom served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a band director and music department head at Pottsgrove School District, retiring in 1986.  Tom founded the Pottsgrove Community Band in 1959 and continued as director emeritus.  Pottsgrove High School dedicated the new Thomas G. Roberts, Jr. Music Wing in April 2015.  He served as West Pottsgrove Township commissioner for 8 years.  Tom was a life-long member of St. Gabriel's R.C. Church, where he was former head of the church council.  He was a 3 rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, E. Louise (Shaner), four sons, Bruce, husband of Nanette (Cinciripino), Jay, husband of Diane (Dudeck), Mark, husband of Patti (Dietrich), and Gregg, husband of Liz (Lux), nine grandchildren, Anthony, Jeffrey, Steven, Jason, Sister Christina Marie, Kurt, Eric, Cole, and Ben. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 6 sisters. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11 A.M. at St Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Church, 127 E. Howard Street, Stowe, PA, with Rev. Thomas Nasta officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown, PA 19464.  Visitation will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 6 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. and on Tuesday morning from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. at Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 E. High Street, Pottstown, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Thomas' memory to Tri-County Home Health and Hospice, 13 Armand Hammer Blvd., Suite 201, Pottstown, PA 19464 or St. Gabriel's Church.
