Thelma J. Nichols, a vibrant spirit and beloved family matriarch, will be remembered for her zest for life and infectious joy. Born on July 2, 1943, she marched through life with confidence and style, always boasting impeccably done hair and nails. Thelma's life journey concluded peacefully on December 8, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Daughter of the late Elmer and Elizabeth (Strauss) Nichols, Thelma was a devoted mother and friend. She was the cherished companion of the late William E. Charles and is survived by her beloved children, William Nichols (wife Lillian), Binti Marable (husband George), Lorraine McCalvin (husband Troy) and Jason Nichols (with his lifetime companion Misty). The joy in her life extended to her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all who brought her immense pride and happiness. She was also a beloved aunt to niece Ginny and nephew Billy.
A true lover of life, Thelma found joy in the little things, whether it was shopping trips, engaging bingo nights, or cheering on her favorite sports teams, the Eagles and Phillies, particularly under the leadership of Andy Reid. Known for her loving heart, she treasured her family above all else, along with her cherished cat, Girl Girl, who brought her companionship and joy.
Thelma is predeceased by her siblings: Robert "Bobby" Nichols, John Nichols, Betty Bishop, and niece Jackie, all of whom she held dear in her heart.
Funeral services will be held in celebration of Thelma's remarkable life on Monday, December 15, 2025. The viewing will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Rhema Ministries: The Word Church in Pottstown, followed by a service at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Rev. Dr. Darrell C. Brown Jr. Together, family and friends will honor Thelma's spirit and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
A burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
