Suzanne P. Tidmore

March 24, 1941 — February 16, 2021

Suzanne P. Tidmore

Suzanne transitioned peacefully after a long illness. God called her home on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Gone is our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, family member and dear friend.

Suzanne was born on March 24, 1941 to the late John E. Shawell and Grace C. Nickens Shawell. She was the third of six children and was raised in the Douglassville and Pottstown areas. She attended Pine Forge Elementary and Boyertown High School. She attended and joined the Second Baptist Church, in Pottstown where she accepted Christ at an early age in 1955. She rededicated her life to Christ as an adult and rejoined Second Baptist Church on June 4, 1995. She was a member of the Usher and Hospitality ministries, and she would gladly step up to serve in any ministries in the church as requested.

Suzanne married the late James H. Tidmore, II and from that union they were blessed with four children. She leaves to cherish her memory, (preceded in death, Dwayne A. Tidmore), Crystal L. Gantt of Bowie, MD, James H. Tidmore, III of Allentown and I. Renee Nixon of Pottstown.

She was the doting grandmother of her seven beautiful granddaughters: Candance L. Gantt of Bowie, MD (preceded in death; Carine L. Gantt), Tiara N. Tidmore of Reading, Sabrina A. Tidmore of Philadelphia, Janeia P. Tidmore of Reading, Druanna M. Tidmore of Reading and Courtney D. Tidmore of Reading. Her four amazing great grandchildren: Nasir X. Hopson of Bowie, MD, Louis A. Rentas, Jr. of Philadelphia, Kaiden Grant and Zoe T. Smith of Reading.

Suzanne had a great love for children. She was blessed with the gift of art6 and creativity. She could draw a picture just by looking at it. She worked for 25 plus years as a day care assistant and teacher. She was lovingly referred to around town as "Miss Sue". Her occupation gave her the awesome opportunity to share her love and passion for art and creativity with her little students. Anyone who truly knew Suzanne, know she was a woman of great character with a quiet spirit. She was full of love and gave it freely. She was genuine, honest, kind, compassionate, strong, and patient. She always wore a beautiful smile that we will all remember forever.

Suzanne came from a family that included one brother and four sisters whom she adored. Her sisters: Alice L. Howard of Pottstown, PA, (preceded in death; Eleanor G, Stackhouse), Joan M. Lias of Pottstown, PA, Paulette C. Thompson (Phillip, brother-in-law) of Collierville, TN. Her "MY BROTHER" John W. Shawell (Alberta, sister-in-law) of Pottstown, PA.

She also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends to cherish her memory and she will live in the hearts of those she touched with her sweet, sweet spirit.

From the family: There are not enough words to fully express our heartfelt thanks for the sympathy, love and support extended to us during our time of loss of our Beloved One!
