Stephen Sikora

Surrounded by family; Stephen Sikora, of Pottstown/Yardley passed away peacefully on January 28, 2016 at his home. Born November 23, 1928 to John and Cathrine (Danko) Sikora of Center Avenue in Pottstown, PA., After attending Pottstown High School, Steve enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and was then honorably discharged in 1953. After his military service Steve got a job with his brother and father at Concrete Products Company of America in Pottstown which turned out to be the beginning of his life-time career in concrete fabrication. On January 8, 1955 he married Mary Casper of Douglassville, PA. and focused on his growing family. After following various opportunities around New Jersey and Pennsylvania areas, in 1966 the family settled in Yardley and there it grew to three sons and a daughter. The family grew again during the eighties to include two grand children Stephanie Lynn and JoAnne Katherine. During the last five years; JoAnne and Milo Guzman gave Steve his two great-grandchildren Alexander and Sikora Lynn, who was recently nicknamed Stevie by her loving Pop-Pop. Steve enjoyed family time; vacationing in the summer, first at the Delaware shore and then in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey. Winters were spent in the Pocono Mountains skiing with the whole family. During his life, he was an avid handy man who always seemed to have a home project in progress. After working for four decades, Steve retired his hardhat while working for PennCast/Oldcastle of Souderton, PA. With this well-deserved retirement, Steve turned his talents and attention to detail to various wood-working projects; that included building bird houses and feeders; he did not stop there, he designed and crafted airplanes out of soda/beer cans. Funeral services, held February 3, 2016, will begin at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Church in Pottstown, PA. with the viewing from 10:00-11:00 A.M. with the liturgy immediately following. Steve is preceded in death by his parents John and Cathrine and brothers Andrew, John, Joseph, Michael, and sisters Mary and Anna. The family extends their gratitude to Chandler Hall Hospice for their support in Steve's final days. In lieu of flowers; the family requests donations to be made to Chandler Hall or the American Lung Association.
