Shirley Louise Acree, 85, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and beloved wife of Andrew Acree Jr., passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 11, 1940, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, she was the cherished daughter of the late Willie and Pearl (Martin) Flippo.
Shirley will be remembered for her nurturing spirit and unconditional love for her family. A devoted housewife, she found joy in caring for others, whether through babysitting or serving as a Sunday school teacher at the Maranatha Church of God in Spring City, where she immersed herself in her faith and community. Her vibrant spirit and warm heart touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Shirley and her husband, Andrew, were blessed to have five sons: Tony Acree (wife Bobby), Charles "Joe" Acree (wife Cindy), Timothy Acree (wife Wendi), David "Bean" Acree (wife Chris), and Jason Acree (wife Kristi). She was a proud grandmother to 16 wonderful grandchildren - Anthony Acree, Nicholas Acree, Chasity Acree, Jeramiah Acree, Jessica Acree, Timothy Acree, Malery Meck, Lucas Acree, David Puddy Acree, Travis Acree, Taylor Acree, Tanner Acree, Jason Acree Jr., Jack Acree, Logan Acree, and Evelyn Acree-and had a special bond with her many great-grandchildren, whom she adored. Notably, she lovingly raised two of her great-granddaughters, Rachael and Hannah , as if they were her own from their toddler years.
Shirley was predeceased by her beloved sons, Charles "Joe" Acree and David "Bean" Acree, as well as her siblings: Harvey Brown, Clarence Flippo, Doris Luckett, and David Flippo. She also mourned the loss of her grandchild, Anthony Acree.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Shirley's life during a viewing set for Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Warker~Troutman Funeral Home, Inc. in Pottstown. A heartfelt service will follow promptly at 11 a.m., honoring the remarkable life and legacy of Shirley Acree. After the service, she will be laid to rest in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Pottstown, where her spirit will forever bloom among the beautiful memories shared with loved ones.
