Shawn Thomas Reed

Shawn Thomas Reed, 30, of Heckel Avenue, Spring City, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2012 in Topeka, Kansas as a result of an auto accident. Born in Phoenixville, PA , he was the son of Thomas K. and Karen L. (Fritz) Reed of Spring City, PA Shawn was a 2000 graduate of the former St. Pius X High School, Lower Pottsgrove Township. He attended West Chester University, West Chester, PA . Shawn loved sports and all outdoor activities, he enjoyed cooking and singing. He loved going on family vacations to the beach. He was a proud and devoted "Uncle Reedy" to his nephew Shey. Along with his parents, Shawn is survived by his sister Melissa L. Reed and her three year old son Shey of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by a paternal step-grandmother Betsy Reed of Pottstown and a maternal grandmother Wilma Fritz of Shippensburg, PA and loving aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends. He is pre-deceased by paternal grandparents John "Mugsy" and Veronica Reed and maternal grandfather Gene Fritz. He was also pre-deceased by an uncle Ron Reed. The family will receive friends on Friday evening July 13, 2012 from 6 – 10 P.M. at Warker-Troutman Funeral Home 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA . The family will also receive friends from Westover Country Club 401 South Schuylkill Avenue, Jeffersonville, PA on Sunday July 15, 2012 from 1 - 3 P.M. with a funeral service to follow at 3 P.M. A luncheon at the country club will be immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Shawn's name to the Gift of Life Donor Program 401 North Third Street Philadelphia, PA 19103.
