Sara Grace Bowman

Sara Grace (Bowman) Bowman passed away in hospice care on Thursday at the age of 92. She was the widow of William H. Bowman who passed away five months ago. They were married 71 years. Mrs. Bowman was born to the late William and Emma (Jones) Bowman and lived in the Pottstown area all of her life. She was a longtime resident of Stowe and most recently lived in Keystone Villa, Douglassville, PA Royal Shoe Store employed Mrs. Bowman for many years. She was active in the church choir and served as a leader for the Girl Scouts of America. She was active in St. Aloysius Church in Pottstown and St. Gabriel's Church in Stowe. Mrs. Bowman is survived by three daughters Dr. Dawn Middleton, wife of Stephen Mourar, Spring City; Bonnie Shaw wife of Dennis Shaw of Gilbertsville and Barbara Garber, wife of Bruce Garber of Pottstown. She has four grandchildren; William Middleton of Schwenksville, Pamela Kaas of Boyertown, Brian Garber of Pottstown, and Beth Barrell of Hellertown. Eight great-grandchildren and a brother William Bowman of Frederick, PA, also survive her. Two brothers and three sisters predeceased her. In her final years , she had great appreciation for the support and assistance of three nieces, Kathleen Kombol, Rita Latham and Joan Birmingham. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday Sept. 9, 2015 at the Warker-Troutman Funeral Home 726 High St. Pottstown. Burial will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am Wednesday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seasons Hospice, 140 Nutt Rd. Phoenixville, PA 19460.
