Ronald E. Schmale

Ronald Schmale, 76, from Stowe passed away peacefully at Complete Care -Berkshire on February 8, 2025. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Walter Schmale and Ruth Schmale (Reigel). He was surrounded by the comfort and love of family in the last weeks of his illness. He was employed at Mrs. Smith's Pie Company for 30 years until their closing. He worked at Best Weld for 2 years in building maintenance. His desire to keep working then led him to doing bulk deliveries for the Pottstown Mercury for 3 years. He enjoyed meeting people on his route and starting at 2AM was never an issue. He is survived by his brother, Tom, of Exeter with whom he spent many years meeting for Sunday breakfast and shared a love of old Western movies. He is also survived by another brother, Harold, of Virginia, two sisters, Sue, wife of Dave Prizer, of Douglassville, and Linda Wilde, of Hereford, and a half-sister, Ruth Sapp, of Lakeland, Florida.

He was predeceased by a half-brother, John Knauer, with whom he spent many times together camping, working on cars, and enjoying Pottstown's night life in their younger days. He was also predeceased by another brother, Richard Schmale, to whom he provided help and advice with his rental properties. Ron enjoyed many holidays with Rich and his wife, Debbie, who continued the tradition even after Rich's passing.
