Rocco P. Reno, age 94, passed away peacefully at the Sanatoga rehab on September 21, 2022, with his family at his side.
Rocco was born on August 12, 1928 in Scranton Pennsylvania to Mary and Rocco Reno. He is predeceased by his brother Francis and his sister Rose.
At a very young age Rocco served in the Army of Occupation toward the end of WWll. It was there that he discovered his passion for building. For the next 50 plus years he spent as a builder and Master Carpenter. His skills were unparalleled. He also loved to draw and was a skilled artist. In his later years he mentored his granddaughter with her artistic talents. Sharing his talents and spending time with her brought him so much joy. Rocco was also a fantastic cook. He would love to prepare large Holiday meals for all the family. A holiday would not be a holiday without his infamous Italian steak cutlets. These are some of the memories we will hold dear to our hearts.
Most of all, Rocco will be remembered as a kind, generous, gentle and soft spoken man, who lived within his Christian faith to its fullest. He gave freely of himself to all, and to all that knew him, he was loved. He leaves behind his partner, companion and soul mate of over thirty five years, Harriet Hale. She will miss him dearly.
Also left to feel the grief and loss are his two step daughters, Kathleen and Susan along with his grandchildren, Walter, Samantha and Zachary. He was so very proud of his Grandchildren and they filled his heart with so much love and happiness.
He also leaves behind his sons, Gary, James and Jeffery, his daughter Gail and numerous grandchildren.
A service and interment will be held at a later date at Hale Cemetery located in Norfolk New York.
He will be truly missed.
Till we meet again.
