Robert McBride, 77, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday March, 3, 2020 after bravely battling Leukemia. By his side and holding his hand, was his wife of 50 years, Marianne. Robert was born on March 25, 1942 in Shamokin, PA. He moved to the Pottstown area as a young boy with his parents Charles and Dorothy (Rodarmel) McBride, both deceased, and his brother Patrick. husband of Patricia and sister, Carol wife of Mick Carl. Robert served in the United States Army from 1963-1969. He worked as a production worker at Doehler Jarvis Company in Pottstown for 32 years before retiring in 2000. Robert was a talented artist and craftsman. He specialized in Tinsel Painting and making antique furniture reproductions. He enjoyed teaching these crafts to his children and grandchildren. He was also an avid antique collector and enjoyed going to auctions. Family meant the world to Robert. He and his wife opened their home and hearts to anyone who found themselves in need. No matter how long they stayed, they became part of his family. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his children, Kevin McBride, partner of Meghan Mickle, Kathleen McBride, partner of Jamie McGovern, Jennifer (McBride) Milakeve, Margaret McBride, wife of DJ Walter, Also surviving are Amber Sell wife of John and Phillip Waisanen, husband of Chelsea. In Addition to his children, Robert is survived by 12 grandchildren, Jackie, Laurel, Corbi, Patrick, Jack, Robby, Sam, Rhiannon, Savannah, Kyle, Payton, Phillip and great granddaughter, Vienna. A funeral mass will be held at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Pottstown on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 11:00 am. Friends and family will be received from 10:00-10:45 in the gathering center of St. Aloysius. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in person or by mail to the Robert McBride Memorial Fund via Jennifer Milakeve at BB&T Bank. Donations will be used to cover remaining medical and funeral expenses. Contributions will also be made to Robert's favorite organizations.
