It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert M. Murphy Sr., 86, who left us on April 11, 2026. A devoted husband to his beloved wife of 60 years, Gloria (Wirth) Murphy, Bob was surrounded by his loving family during his final moments. Born on June 27, 1939, he was the cherished son of the late Francis and Luella (Simpson) Murphy.
Bob earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration / Computer Sciences, which he used to help modernize computerized banking.
Bob's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a passion for family. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren pick blueberries and strawberries in his garden. A lover of puzzles and card games, Bob brought joy to every gathering, His adventurous spirit led him on journeys, especially to Niagara Falls, a cherished destination he and Gloria revisited together.
As a longstanding member of the Knights of Columbus, Bob demonstrated a commitment to community and service, leaving a positive impact wherever he went. He was a true family man, and his legacy will live on through the countless memories he created.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Gloria, and his devoted daughter, Lisa Marie Haggard. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings: Joe, Carl, Paul, Ken Murphy, and Carlene Suminski. Bob leaves behind six wonderful grandchildren-Heather Mortzfield, Michael Lewis, Shawn Murphy, Nichole Duebert, Ashley Murphy, and Blakely Childers-as well as eleven loving great-grandchildren, all who will carry forward his spirit and kindness.
He is predeceased by his beloved son, Robert M. Murphy Jr.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Bob's remarkable life. A viewing will take place on Tuesday evening, April 21, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Warker~Troutman Funeral Home Inc, Pottstown. A morning viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church in Pottstown, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the church.
Bob will be laid to rest in All Souls Cemetery, Coatesville, where he will be honored among family and friends.
Warker~Troutman Funeral Home Inc. is honored to serve Rob's family during this time of loss. As we remember Rob, let us celebrate his life-filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to those he cherished. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will forever shine in our hearts.
