Robert Francis Istenes

Robert Francis Istenes, 76, of Parkerford, PA passed away on Wednesday Janaury 11, 2017 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Phoenixville, PA he was the son of the late Lawrence R. and Virginia S. (Lesh) Istenes. Bob had worked for the Scientific Window Washer Co., Bethlehem Steel Corporation and Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. all formerly of Pottstown, PA. He last worked as head custodian for Spring Ford School District. Robert was a member of the Pottstown Quoit Club and the Lower Pottsgrove Sportsman's club where he was bar manager for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing and cutting firewood. Surviving is a son Robert Istenes husband of Barbara of Patton, PA and a daughter Sharon Istenes of Parkerford, PA and numerous grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by two brothers Lawrence Istenes and Thadeus "Terry" Istenes. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday January 15, 2017 at 3 P.M. from Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA. A viewing will be held from 1-3 P.M. Sunday at the funeral Home. Interment will be private at a later date.
