Robert "Bob" Clyde Fitch, 82, husband of the loving Vivian (Lucas) Fitch, entered into eternal rest at his home on June 9th, 2023. Bob was a son of the late Paul and Ruth (Tabscott) Fitch.
Along with his wife of 53 years, Bob is survived by his daughter Lea Ann Care (husband Tom) and Ann Marie Akana (husband Tom); his grandchildren Lucas Akana, Jacob Akana, Quinn Care, and Elena Care; and his step-grandchildren Abigail Care and Emma Care. Bob is predeceased by his siblings Bill Fitch, Gene Fitch, and Eleanor Reiff. He leaves his siblings Barbara Zelenak, Jim Fitch, and Dottie Troutman.
Bob's career as a self-employed auto mechanic spanned 44 years at Fitch Brothers Inc. He also enjoyed working 13 years as a mechanic for Kimberton Golf Club before his well-deserved retirement. There was no task that was too difficult or too long to complete. If an existing part didn't work, he would fabricate a custom piece to get the job completed. Bob was always willing to lend a helping hand or share his ideas to solve any problem.
Bob's passion for cars was undeniable. In his early days, he spent time drag racing. Later, he began building Street Rods and became a notable expert in this field, winning many national awards and titles. One of his specialities was incorporating modern safety features seamlessly into the original aesthetics of his Street Rods. He loved all aspects of the design/build process, especially spending time in his garage with his friends who shared his passion.
Bob was a devoted husband, father and Pop Pop. He loved spending his time with Vivie and enjoyed traveling to Street Rod meets or just taking a drive to see family and friends. Bob and Vivie often attended their grandchildren's sporting events and activities.
