Peter J Russo

Peter J. Russo, husband of Mary (Mastrocola) Russo, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 4, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Tornetta) Russo. Pete was born and raised in Norristown PA. He was an Air Force veteran and served in the Korean War. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force he went to work for Dames Chevrolet. Pete also worked at Willow Grove Naval Air Station where he was called up to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1961. His last job was at the Defense Industrial Supply Center in Philadelphia. He retired at age 55. Pete spent his time on activities he most enjoyed, such as tinkering around the house, fixing things for other people and golfing. Pete golfed until he was 87. Pete also had his pilot's license and when he was younger, he would fly solo or take family for a ride. He attended Mass daily at St. Aloysius Church and went out to coffee afterwards with "the crew". One thing Pete loved his family. He was devoted to his wife, Mary.

Along with, Mary, Pete is survived by his daughter, Tina Freese, (David Sr); his two brothers, Frank Russo, (Hanna), and Joseph Russo, (Suzette); his sister, Mary Miller (Bill); his grandson, David Jr. (Stefanie Sinno); his two great-grandchildren, Abby and Calvin Freese; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pete was predeceased by his sister Lilian Mateja; his nephew Frank Mateja; and grand-daughter Jaclyn Freese.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Aloysius Church. A public viewing will be held prior to Mass from 10 A.M. to 11A.M. in the Church Gathering Center.

Burial will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery.
