Paul Montgomery

Paul G. Montgomery, Jr., 67, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on October 1, 2025, after a courageous five-year battle with cancer. He faced his illness as he lived his life: with quiet dignity, unwavering grit, and a loving stubbornness that carried his family through the hardest of days.

Losing his father at age eleven shaped Paul into a man of deep resilience and unassuming strength. A gentle giant and former weightlifter, he was known for his twinkling blue eyes, quiet humor, and the heart he wore so openly. He never hesitated to make a fool of himself if it meant making someone laugh.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Tracy Montgomery. They would have celebrated their wedding anniversary on October 25. Together, they shared a life filled with love and the constant companionship of their dog, Benny.

He is also survived by his children, Colin Montgomery (Amber) and Caely Montgomery (Michael), his greatest pride and joy. He is fondly remembered by Patricia Montgomery, the mother of his children, with whom he shared many meaningful years of family life.

Paul's family also includes his stepsons, Chase Saracino and Ryan Swoyer (Gabriella), and his granddaughter, Rylynn Swoyer, whose presence brought light and laughter to his final years.

A sentimental man, Paul cherished traditions, saved every card, and surrounded himself with photos of those he loved. He adored fall, football season, and preparing for Christmas. A lifelong sports fan, he especially loved Notre Dame football, having even made the pilgrimage to campus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charles Montgomery, and in-laws who loved him as their own. We take comfort in knowing he's rejoined them.

Despite a prognosis of just two to three years, Paul lived more than five and a half. Told he might never walk again, he used parallel bars to teach himself to walk-and even drive-again. His perseverance and optimism were extraordinary, and his fight was never fought alone.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to organizations supporting prostate cancer awareness. Men: ask your doctor about PSA testing. Early detection saves lives.

Paul will be remembered as a loving father, devoted partner, and loyal soul whose kindness reached both people and animals alike. His physical strength was great, but it paled beside his quiet fortitude. He will be deeply missed.
