It is with a mixture of sorrow and celebration that we announce the passing of Nathaniel Watkins, who departed this life on December 14, 2025, at the age of 76. A cherished husband to Valeria Lucas-Watkins and beloved father to Chad Watkins, Jada Watkins, Charles "Charlie" Hudson and Brian Watkins. Nathaniel embraced life with an infectious spirit, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Born on August 14, 1949, to the late Nathaniel and Ruth (Reid) Watkins, Nathaniel was a dedicated worker, whether on the job or tending to his beloved home. He had a passion for the Indy 500 races that ignited his enthusiasm for cars, especially his treasured Mustang which he acquired in high school. Along with fine automobiles, he cherished cozy evenings spent watching Westerns, "The Godfather," and the delightful antics of "Sanford & Sons."
Nathaniel's warm heart and unwavering devotion to his family defined his life. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Chad, Jada, Charles "Charlie," Brian, as well as his brothers, Herman and Gregory John Watkins. Nathaniel also leaves behind a legacy of joy and laughter through his grandchildren: Alexander "Big Al" Langford, Aubrey James Watkins, Graham Leonard Watkins, Teagan Delany Watkins, and Carter Joseph Hritz. Nieces and nephews: Kathy Fortson, Rebecca Watkins-Young, Michelle Temple, James Temple, Omar Thomas, Michelle Thomas, Donna Thomas, Juanita Thomas, Keenya Schofield. He rejoices now with his predeceased siblings: Juanita Temple, Karen Thomas, and Philip Watkins.
