Miguel Acevedo Jr., 60, a devoted husband, cherished family member, and dedicated veteran, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at the Reading Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 2, 1965, in Puerto Rico, Miguel was the son of the late Miguel A. and Ines (Maldonado-Perez) Acevedo Sr.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Miguel served his country with honor and distinction. His military service was marked by numerous accolades, including the Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, , Marksman Marksmanship Badge Rifle-M-16, Expert Marksmanship Badge Grenade, Private 1st class award 67' and Decorated Specialist 86.'
He took great pride in his achievements and was Honorably Discharged in 88.' After his military career, Miguel became a skilled Chemical Processor in the pharmaceutical industry, working for DOW, where he continued to make a difference in the lives of others.

Miguel's spirit shone brightly through his love for life. He had a passion for traveling back to his roots in Puerto Rico, and in his leisure time, he found joy in reading and cycling through the scenic streets of Pottstown, PA. Later in life, he earned his Ministry Certificate.

Miguel was a true family man, deeply devoted to his beloved wife, Militza (Colon) Acevedo. He is survived by his sons, Miguel Acevedo III and Eric Acevedo; his siblings, Wilson Acevedo-Perez wife Dorothy, Carmen Thompson husband Anthony, Maritza Acevedo, and Daly Smith; along with one grandchild, Iana Acevedo, and two great-grandchild Sincere Rawls and Nova Rawls.
The bonds he shared with his family brought him immense joy and fulfillment.

As we come together to honor Miguel's life, a viewing will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Rhema Ministries: The Word Church, located at 543 Walnut St, Pottstown, PA 19464. A service celebrating his remarkable life and legacy will follow promptly at 11 a.m.

Miguel Acevedo Jr. will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, kindness, and love will forever be a source of inspiration for those he leaves behind. The Warker~Troutman Funeral Home Inc. is honored to serve the Acevedo family during this time of remembrance and reflection.
