Michael P. Yonas

Michael P. Yonas, 61, of Pottstown, PA passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Shamokin, PA he was the son of the late George and Olga Yonas. Mike was a painter at the Pottstown School District for 41 years retiring in 2014. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Cherry Street, Pottstown, PA and also a member of the Phillies Fire Company and the Holy Trinity Club. He enjoyed fishing and was a kind and generous man who was loved by all. Surviving are two sons Mickey M. Yonas of Pottstown, PA and Kevin G. Yonas husband of Michele of Exeter, PA. He was pre-deceased by a son Matthew Yonas. He is also survived by three grandchildren Isabella, Emily and Tye Yonas. Michael was also survived by nine brothers and sisters Lubow Kozak of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Therese wife of Thomas Lytle of Collegeville, PA, Joseph Yonas , Olga wife of Arthur Hall of and John Yonas all of Pottstown, PA, Faith Ann wife of Sam Detwiler of Royersford, PA, Christine wife of Leonard Schantz of Exeter, PA, Nicholas Yonas husband of Kris of Gilbertsville, PA and Mary Nimmerichter of Stowe, PA . He was also pre-deceased by a brother George Yonas. A viewing will be Sunday evening from 5-7 P.M. from Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA. A private funeral service will be Monday with burial in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers , memorial contributions can be made to the Michael P.
