Melvin J. Olock, 84, husband of Patricia (Brennan) Olock, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
He was a son of the late John and Magdalene{Helen} (Yanos) Olock.
A graduate of Pottsgrove High School, he worked the majority of his career with the United States Postal Service in Pottstown. In "retirement" he was a driver for the residents of Keystone Villa in Douglassville.
Mel was a car guy, all cars, any cars. From the '40s through the 80's he would talk cars with anyone. Oh and he liked his hotdogs. He never met a hot dog that he didn't like.
More than anything he was a family man. His love was boundless for family. At the end of each get together he would say "I got to see my kids." Those "kids" ranged from ages in the 60's to less than 10. Every one of them was his, happily.
He was a reliable smile or devilish smirk. Happy with simple things and easily made happy.
Along with his wife, Melvin is survived by his children, Mindy Purcell (husband Bill) and Steven Olock (wife Andrea),three grandchildren: Emily West (husband Ian), Kelly Purcell (partner Orlando Ramirez III), and Maggie Olock and one beautiful great grandchild, Ella West. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Snowball 2.0
Mel is predeceased by a sister Barbara Mest.
