May K. Koury

May K. Koury, 95, of Pottstown, PA , died Wednesday August 17, 2011 at Manatawny Manor Nursing Home , East Coventry Township. Born in Pottstown, PA , she was the daughter of the late Badia and Sadie (Sakour) Koury. Miss Koury had first worked at the former Ellis Drug Store of Pottstown, PA for ten years and for Prudential Insurance Co. for two years. She then worked as a beautician as the owner and operator of May Koury Beauty Shop on Chestnut Street for fifty years until her retirement in 1997. She was a member of St. Aloysius R.C.C. Pottstown, PA and the St. Aloysius Senior Citizens. She enjoyed traveling and dining out with family and friends. She also entertained those around her with her great sense of humor. She is survived by nine nephews, fifteen great nieces and nephews and twelve great great nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two brothers Samuel and Kenneth Koury and by two sisters Nellie Koury and Elizabeth Trimble. She was also pre-deceased by a niece Rosemary Wentzel and a nephew Jack Koury. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Aloysius R.C.C. Beech & Hanover Streets, Pottstown, PA at 10 A.M. on Tuesday August 30, 2011 . Interment will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Lower Pottsgrove Township. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 9 – 10 A.M. in the Gathering Center of St. Aloysius R.C.C.
