Matthew Foose

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Matthew C. Foose, 72, beloved son, brother, and friend, who died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 17, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. Born on June 23, 1953, Matt was a gifted car mechanic, jack of all trades, and a great storyteller. Matt spent much of his time helping others and teaching them how to help themselves. He would always drop everything to come to the aid of a loved one. 

Matt was a 1971 graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School. He lived most of his life in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. 

Matt worked as an auto mechanic for many years at Buckwalter's Garage in Pottstown. Later he successfully owned and operated his own auto repair business at the same location. He also spent many enjoyable hours restoring hot rods, classic cars and assisting his many friends and family with their projects. Matt had a quick wit, a generous heart, and a knack for making everyone laugh. He was known for his deadpan jokes, big personality, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He was incredibly organized, detail-oriented, and took great pride in doing things the right way. 

He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. 

Matt is survived by his brother Robert J. (Beverly) Foose of Downingtown, PA and sisters Sophia (Wesley) Miller of Elverson, PA , Cynthia Yost of Pottstown, PA, and Sally Foose of Pottstown, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert H and Theresa E. Foose. He leaves behind many friends in the Pottstown area. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11am at Calvary Chapel Living Word, 1301 Hilltop Road, Pottstown, Pennsylvania. All who knew and loved Matt are welcome to attend.
