Mary R. Stankunas

Mary R. (Ferenz) Stankunas, 91, widow of Benjamin G. Stankunas of Stowe, died Saturday, February 25th at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born March 27, 1920 in Stowe, she was a daughter of the late Gregor and Rose (Vontorcik) Ferenz. Mary was employed as a presser at the Pottstown Shirt Company, formerly of Pottstown for over 40 years. She enjoyed baking, sewing, tending her garden, and traveling with her daughter. She was a faithful parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Pottstown, her entire life and was a member of the parish altar & rosary society, sodality, cleaning group, and woman's guild. Mary was a faith-filled woman with a special devotion to the Blessed Mother. All who knew her loved her. Mary is survived by a son, Gregory, husband of Linda (Webb), Stankunas, of Schwenksville, and a daughter, Bonnie of Stowe. She is also survived by a brother Michael Ferenz, of Stowe, one granddaughter, two great-granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents Mary was preceded in death by her brothers John, Joseph, Frank and Stephen Ferenz, and sister Helen Ferenz Schank. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Chad Webb Stankunas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Holy Trinity R.C.C., 370 South Street, Pottstown on Wednesday, February 29 at 10:30 A.M.. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Grosstown Rd., Stowe. A viewing will be held from 7-8:30 P.M. Tuesday evening and from 9- 10 A.M. Wednesday at the Warker-Troutman Funeral Home 726 East High Street, Potstown.
