Mary Ann (Woods) Renninger; wife of Carl A. Renninger of Upper Pottsgrove, died on July 12 after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born in Phoenixville on July 2, 1941, and raised in Spring City. A 1959 graduate of Spring Ford High School, she later received an education degree from West Chester State College. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Maria (Hartzell) Woods of Spring City, she was also preceded in death by two of her brothers, Thomas and Robert Woods. She is survived by her husband Carl A. Renninger; and their sons: Rev. Michael A. Renninger of Richmond, VA, and Karl A. Renninger of Louisville, KY. She is also survived by her brothers: John Woods, Jr. and his wife Doris of Phoenixville; James Woods his wife Wilma of Royersford; and her sister Joanne (Woods) Graber and her husband Lester of Goshen, IN. Her memory is cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren. For over three decades she was an educator at St. Aloysius Catholic School in Pottstown, where she inspired students to excel spiritually, athletically and musically. In addition, she was a member of the parish staff, and was generously involved in the life of her church and community. Those who mourn her passing remember her as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend and spiritual role model. A viewing will take place at St. Aloysius Church, 223 Beech Street in Pottstown, on July 18 from 4:30-7:30 P.M.. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated that same evening at 7:30 P.M. On July 19 friends and family begin to assemble at 10:30 A.M. at New Hanover Lutheran Church Cemetery, 2941 Lutheran Road, Gilbertsville, where burial will take place promptly at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Aloysius Church in Pottstown.
