Mary Koenig

Mary (Kuzan) Koenig, 97, widow of John D. Koenig, Sr., formerly of Pottstown, daughter of Eva (Hwylut) and Nicholas Kuzan and step-father Milyan Fayewicz, Sr. died at Hearthstone at Maidencreek on March 31, 2016. She is survived by her children Marjorie Hummel, widow of Neal E. Hummel, Mary Nace, wife of Daniel F. Nace, and K. Karl Koenig, husband of Christine (Snyder). John D. Koenig, Jr. preceeded her in death. She is survived by one sister, Anna Fayewicz, Temple, PA. She was pre-deceased by brothers Frank Kuzan, Andrew Kuzan, Paul Kuzan, Michael Fayewicz, Sr., Milyan Fayewicz, Jr., John Fayewicz, Sr. and sister Kathryn (Fayewicz) Spatz. Survivors also include 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was an expert seamstress, sewing for Sunset Mf. Co. and many mens' & ladies' shops and individuals in the Pottstown area. Services are scheduled for Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 130 S. Walnut St., Wernersville. There will be a viewing at 10A.M.-11 A.M. Funeral services will commence at 11 A.M. Burial will be at St. John's Gernants' Church Cemetery, Leesport. The Rev. Kay Braun, pastor of St. James Lutheran Church , Pottstown, will officiate. Contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 1101 E.
