Mary F. Daye

Mary F. Daye, 88, widow of Joseph Daye of Virginia Beach, Virginia and formerly of Pottstown, PA passed away on Thursday January 1, 2015 at her residence in Virginia Beach. Born in Oxford, NC she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Dora (Royster) Allen. Mary had worked as a sewing machine operator for 20 years for Sunset Manufacturing Company, formerly of Pottstown, PA until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, 507 North Adams Street, Pottstown, PA. She was formerly a member of the church choir, the ladies auxiliary and the helping hands club. She was a friend to everyone and well loved by everyone and loved the Lord. Surviving is a son Dennis Daye husband of Bambi of Pottstown, PA. Also, three daughters Joyce Marie Daye of Virginia, Marian Terry widow of Alphonso Terry, Sr. of Virginia Beach, VA and Linda D. wife of Larry Butler of Sanatoga, PA. She is also survived by a sister Catherine Estes of Butner, NC and six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was also pre-deceased by a brother Marvin Allen. Funeral services will be Wednesday January 7, 2015 at 11 A.M. from Second Baptist Church, Pottstown, PA with the Rev. Roland H. Anderson II, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA. A viewing will be Wednesday from 9-11 A.M. at the church.
