Mary D. Gacura

Mary D. (Stephany) Gacura, 93, wife of the late Joseph Gacura, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at her home.

She was a daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Krieg) Stephany.

Mary was born September 15, 1930 and was a graduate of Mahanoy City High School, class of 49'. She was a den mother for Cub Scouts at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church for over 10 years. Mary was a member of St. Gabriel's R.C. Church, a member of their Senior Citizens Club and also a volunteer at the Church. She enjoyed gardening, beautiful flowers and spending time with her family.

Mary leaves behind her memories to be cherished by her children: Thomas J. Gacura, Kathleen A. Valentine (husband Charles), Marie R. Webster (husband George), brother, Peter Stephany, sisters, Florence Sharpton, Catherine Moyer, seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Along with her husband, Mary is predeceased by a daughter, Nan R. Moyer and brothers: Gerald, James, Paul and sisters, Rita and Rose.

Service will be at the convenience of the family.
