Marlin L. "Monty" Dietterick, age 88, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at his home in Pottstown, Pa, surrounded by his beloved family. He was the devoted husband of Nancy C. (Kessler) Dietterick, who he cherished deeply throughout their life together.

Born on March 22, 1938, Monty was the son of the late Paul R. and Geraldine (Best) Dietterick of Berwick, Pa. Monty and his family moved to Pottstown in the early 1960’s and was a proud member of his community. He dedicated an impressive 47 years of service to Weis Supermarket, where his kindness and dedication were well-known and appreciated by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Monty had a true love for the outdoors, finding joy in hunting, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and camping. He embraced the beauty of nature and often shared these experiences with his family, creating lasting memories. His passion for woodworking also allowed him to express his creativity, crafting pieces that his loved ones will cherish for years to come.

Above all, Monty's greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy, as well as his cherished children, Tim L. Dietterick and wife Rose, Kevin L. Dietterick and wife Anna. His brothers Paul L. Dietterick of Berwick, Pa. and Gerald A. Dietterick of Pottstown, Pa. Monty also leaves behind a legacy of love through his three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.

Monty's warm spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He touched the hearts of many and leaves behind memories that will be celebrated by his family and friends.
