Margaret E. Flood

Margaret "Peggy" (Thomas) Flood, age 91, passed away on March 9, 2014 at home, surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Harrison "Bud" Flood. They were married for 55 years. Born in Stowe, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl (Oxenford) Thomas. She was a graduate of Pottstown High School-Class of 1941 and was a life-long member of St. Aloysius Church. She worked as a seamstress/dressmaker for most of her life. She was a charter member of St. Aloysius Senior Citizens Group and the trip coordinator for more than 25 years. She was the financial secretary for the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus of Stowe. She was also the Past President of the Pennsylvania Dutch Jim Beam Bottle Club and charter member of Cherry Valley Bottle Club. Mrs. Flood also belonged to the Pottstown Senior Center, AARP, PMMC Senior Circle and was on the Residents Committee of Sanatoga Ridge Community. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casinos, watching the Phillies and spending time with her 2 cats-Sunny and Abby. She was predeceased by her sisters, Thelma Heffner of Pottstown and Mary Miller of Norristown and a brother, Charles Thomas of Pottstown, and a nephew Kenneth Zamorski of Pottstown. She is survived by a nephew Gary Heffner and his wife Harriet, a great-nephew, Edward Zamorski and his wife Pauline and Sarah Macolly, widow of her nephew, Charles Macolly. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Aloysius R.C.C., 223 Beech Street, Pottstown, PA on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 11 A.M. Interment will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Lower Pottsgrove Township. A viewing will be Thursday from 9:30-10:45 A.M. in the Gathering Center of St. Aloysius R.C.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cat Angel Network, PO Box 3071 Stowe, PA 19464. Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA is in charge of arrangements.
