Marcella G. Polischeck

Marcella G. (Silvano) Polischeck, 87, wife of the late Ernest J. Polischeck, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at Parkhouse Nursing Home.

She is a daughter of the late William and Rachel (Ranieri) Silvano.

Family was at the core of everything she did, and nothing was more important to her as when her entire family would gather to celebrate and reminisce. Silvano family Reunions were very special to her as she loved it when all the different generations came together to tell stories of her family's history.

She loved to share her fond memories of being on stage with Shorty Long, and being a part of WPAZ, her treasured roller skates from her partner skating days, and working at the Movie Theatre and Woolworth's on High Street. Shopping of any kind with Marcella was an adventure as it felt like she knew everyone in Pottstown and always stopped to speak to everyone.

She also loved traveling, with the love of her life Ernie, to Shore points and casinos. She had a great love of music, theater, and arts. Whenever you saw Ernie and Marcella together you could feel their deep love for each other and when they danced together, they seemed to be the only two in the room. She never missed a concert, a play or award ceremony for her daughter or her granddaughter as well as enjoying all events her nieces and nephews were a part of as well. She loved all her family deeply and never missed an opportunity to be there for any of them.

Her deep faith was also a very important part of who Marcella was – she taught religion for St. Clare in Linfield for many years and was honored in 1969 by being awarded a Religious Instruction certification from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. She was President of the Ladies of St Clare and worked with her fellow ladies to do great work for her church. When she lost the love of her life in 1990 Marcella joined the MOM Heart of the Home organization – helping young mothers deepen their faith and supporting them through the good and bad times of motherhood. Later she joined the To Live Again support group for grieving widows and widowers and enjoyed taking trips and having forging lifelong friendships.

Marcella is survived by a daughter Cathleen Hunt (husband James). Two sisters Gloria Loomis and Jennie Drexler and a brother Joe Salvano. One grandchild Gabrielle Hunt and a great grandchild Carson Hunt.

Along with her parents and husband, Marcella is predeceased by her brothers William, Daniel and George Silvano and her brother-in-law, James Loomis.

A public visitation will be held at St. Teresa of Calcutta Church on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 11 a.m. till noon. Mass will be held at noon.

Burial will follow at St. Aloysius New Cemetery.
