Lorraine McKenna (Connor), 87, of Royersford, PA, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at her residence. She was the wife of the late James McKenna. Born in Philadelphia she was a graduate of Little Flower High School class of 1953 and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing class of 1956.
She was Chief Nursing Officer for Kearsley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Philadelphia. She was also an entrepreneur; starting her own cleaning business and the first to open an Italian Water ice business in Royersford. Lorraine and her late husband gave back to the community opening the first chapter called Tough Love in Limerick. They also opened their home to many underprivileged and foreign students.
In her later years her passion was traveling with her best friend from high school, Debbie. One most memorable trip was when they went to Ireland and spent weeks at a time in a small town called Shannonbridge where she made life-long friendships. Lorraine's most important and proudest accomplishment was being a grandmom, to the apple of her eye, Joseph.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Marie Michaels (husband Mike) and Patrick McKenna and a grandson Joseph.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa of Calcutta, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery 235 Matsonford Rd, Conshohocken, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Flower High School, 100 W. Lycoming St., Philadelphia, PA. 19140
