Linda B. Merkle

Linda B. Merkle, 73, wife of Charles Merkle Sr. of Douglassville passed away Friday April 8, 2016 in the Reading Hospital. Born in Phila. she was a daughter of the late Ellis J. Sr. and Nancy (Patterson) Barbee. Linda was employed as a Registered Nurse for the Visiting Nurse Assoc. of Pottstown. Her education was as a Registered Nurse at Bryn Mawr Hospital and she received a BS degree from St. Francis University. Surviving with her husband is a son Charles Merkle Jr. Boyertown . A daughter Dana M. wife of Dennis M. Matheson, Douglassville. Grandchildren Julie, Willem, Zach and Emily. Predeceased by a brother Ellis J. Barbee Jr. and a sister Nancy B. Thomas. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Douglassville. She started the Hospice Program at the Visiting Nurse Assoc. of Pottstown. She sang in the Valley Forge Sweet Adelines. Linda loved animals and bred Siberian Huskies, Chocolate Labs and Golden Retrievers. She loved her grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday April 16, 2016 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church 548 Old Swede Rd. Douglassville, PA. Friends may call Saturday from 10 to 11 am at the Church. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be sent to the Visiting Nurse Assoc. of Pottstown Hospice Program. Arrangements by Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, Pottstown, PA
