Lillie B. (Keller) Lucas, a beloved matriarch and friend, peacefully departed this life on May 3, 2026, at the age of 91, surrounded by her cherished family. She was the devoted wife of the late James Lucas.
Born in St. Matthews, SC Calhoun County, she is a daughter of the late Reverend Thomas and Bernice (Caldwell) Keller. Lillie moved no Norristown PA with her husband then to Philadelphia for career opportunity. She worked for the Free Library Bindery Department then the Philadelphia Health Department as a dental hygienist and TT before retiring after 29 and half years.
After retiring from the city of Philadelphia, Lillie moved back to Columbia/Hopkins SC. She worked under Colonel Sykes and Colonel Hogan at Fort Jackson, DENTAC.
Lillie will be fondly remembered for her vivacious spirit and warm heart. She had a zest for life, regularly indulging in scratch-off lottery tickets and the excitement of slot machines at the casino. Her joy was evident as she enjoyed people-watching, taking leisurely car rides, and immersing herself in the pages of a good book. Known as the "family reunion queen," Lillie took great pride in gathering her loved ones and sharing her delicious baked goods, especially her famous pound cake and gingerbread, which will forever hold a special place in her family's hearts.
Lillie's unconditional love and kindness touched everyone she encountered, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many. She is survived by her beloved children, Valeria Watkins and James R. Lucas, her brother Frank Keller, and her grandchildren: Tamika Lewis, Chad Watkins, Lovier Walker, Janique Walker, Jada Watkins, Brian Watkins, along with 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two precious grandchildren, Aubrey Walker and Charlie Hudson.
In celebration of Lillie's remarkable life, a graveside service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Rolling Green Memorial Park Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to come together in honor of her legacy and share in the love she so generously gave.
Warker~Troutman Funeral Home Inc. is honored to serve Lillie's family during this time of remembrance and reflection. Although she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her. She will be profoundly missed, but her beautiful memories will be cherished forever.
