Lilie E. Cooney

Lilie (Endy) Cooney, 92, of Stowe, PA died on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Citizens Nursing Home in Frederick, MD. She was the wife of William J. Cooney, Sr. until his death in 1988. Born on June 5, 1920 in Pottstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Howard & Emma (Richards) Endy From 1956 until her retirement in 1982, she was employed by Stanley G. Flagg and Co. as a quality control specialist. She was an active member of St. Gabriel Roman Catholic Church; St. Gabriel Altar and Rosary Society; Stowe Lioness Club; and St. Aloysius Senior Citizens Club. Surviving family include her daughter Joan Costello (Branchburg, NJ) and son William J. Cooney, Jr. and his wife Frieda (Monrovia, MD); three grandchildren: Natalie (Cooney) and husband Jason Dean (Frederick,MD), William J. Cooney III his wife Katherine (Severna Park, MD) and Veronica (Cooney) and husband Mike DeSimone (Laurel, MD) and great-grandsons Liam, Michael and James Cooney (sons of William and Katherine); Nathan DeSimone (son of Veronica and Mike DeSimone) and great-granddaughter Elizabeth Dean (daughter of Natalie and Jason Dean), sister Marie Moser (Pottstown, PA) and brother James and wife Beverly Endy (Douglassville, PA); Brother-in-law David Cooney and his wife Hilda (Gilbertsville, PA) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Karen Rosendale in 2006 and sisters: Florence Butterweck; Anna Yoder; Caroline Kasdras; Pearl Rising; and Marguerite Kupp and brothers Charles Endy and Harvey Endy. The family will receive friends and family from 9 to 10 am on Saturday March 23, 2013 at St. Gabriel Roman Catholic Church Stowe, PA with a Funeral Mass at 10 am and final interment in St. Aloysius New Cemetery.
