Lewis G. Steger, 60 years, suddenly passed away August 15, 2024 at home in Pottstown. Lewis was born in Sharon Hill to Harry Kirby Steger and Margaret Mary Steger, nee Hohman.
Lewis had a tremendous personality. He could sell a blind man glasses. He had a way of making people feel at ease and enjoyed making people laugh. His caring and devotion toward others made him stand out, not to be recognized, but because he wanted to help. He was a 6 years member of Pottstown AA, sober for the past three years, and lead many meetings, where they met on Cherry Street. Lewis was well known in Pottstown, driving his 1969 Chevy C-10 pick up truck, It got him to where he needed to go, it wasn't the best looking truck on the street but it was his. Lewis also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed deep sea fishing off the Cape May coast, and was able to spend some time with his family, on vacation, in Brigantine, NJ, this past July. Lewis was employed for several years with Miracle Ear, and earned the top salesman in the nation many times. In later years, he kept himself busy painting and helping people with small repairs.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years, Julie Steger, nee Shanta, married April 2, 2000, one daughter, Tori Steger, and siblings H. Kirby Steger, Jr. and his wife Annette, Barbara, Devaney and her husband James, Kathy Franz, and Margaret Coffey and her husband David, and sister in law Patricia Steger. Lewis is also survived by nieces and nephews and many friends.
