Laura Jean Wisler

Laura Jean Wisler, age 99, peacefully passed away on March 31, 2020 of natural causes. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Wilhelmina Binczak of Pottstown, PA. Laura was born January 24, 1921 in Pottstown and married the love of her life, Jay Wisler, in Pottstown on February 15, 1942 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Laura was a self-made entrepreneur. With the advent of WWII, she became a beautician and opened her own beauty shop in Pottstown while her husband Jay served in the Army. This career continued even after moving to Miami, FL in 1958. During the early 80's as empty nesters, Laura and Jay moved from Florida to Atlanta, GA to live closer to their children. There she began a house cleaning business, which flourished until the mid-90s when she and her husband moved to Jackson, MS and began house and dog sitting during their retirement. A 2001 move to Raleigh, NC to live with their daughter Bonnie was when she and Jay truly entered retirement and enjoyed a variety of senior clubs, travel and the joy of many new friends. She especially enjoyed the company of her card club friends meeting monthly to enjoy a day of hand & foot, lunch and laughter. She was quite the card shark! Throughout her lifetime, her smile, openness and genuine interest in others gained her loving friendships that remain to this day. Laura was preceded in death by her husband Jay in 2009; son Jay Jr. in 2000, her sisters Mary and Olga, and brothers Leon, Steve and Bill. Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children Jean (& Barry) DeSantis of Malvern, PA;Bonnie of Durham,NC; daughter-in-law Betty; grandchildren Cindy (& Patrick) Horan, Michael (& Molly) DeSantis, and Jay Wisler III; also great-grandchildren Joe and Emily DeSantis; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Due to the existing restrictions with Covid-19, a memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.
