Larry Carter Sr., born on January 5th, 1952 passed away May 22nd, 2026 at age of 74; son of Dorothy (Wright) Watson and Robert Carter Sr. Larry lived a life full of joy and laughter, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew him.
Larry had an infectious passion for life, often bringing people together through his love for card games and dancing. He was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, never missing a game, and he wore his team spirit proudly. But above all, Larry was a true family man. His greatest joy came from spending time with his loved ones, including his cherished siblings, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. With a heart of gold and a smile that could light up any room, Larry's warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by many.
He leaves behind his children: Tamika Carter, Larry Carter Jr, Brian Carter (and wife Stephanie), Matthew Carter Sr, Jocelyn “Joy” Carter-Allford (and husband James), Aubre Carter (Christian), Chad Carter, and Sophia Carter. Larry's legacy also lives on through his beloved siblings-Mark Carter, Sidney Porter, Keith Carter, Guy Carter, Kim Carter, Jay Carter Sr., and Timothy Carter-as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry forward his spirit, joy, and Carternism.
He is predeceased by his parents and beloved step-father Leroy Watson, siblings: Robert Carter Jr., Pamela Carter-Butler, and Kelly Carter-Hernandez, who will be eager to greet him in the embrace of eternal peace.
A viewing will be held in Larry's honor on May 27, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Warker~Troutman Funeral Home Inc. in Pottstown. A celebration of his life will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, where family and friends will gather to share stories and reflect on the wonderful moments they shared with Larry.
Following this, Larry will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
