Kay E. Ellis

Kay E. Ellis, 70, wife of Gerald B. Waterfield of Pottstown, PA passed away on Wednesday November 15, 2017 at Pottstown Hospital. Born in Pottstown, PA she was the daughter of the late William Philip and Catherine Marie Elizabeth (Schutz) Ellis. She was a graduate of St. Pius X High School formerly of Pottstown, PA. Following high school she received an associates degree from Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, DE and a BA degree with honors from Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA Kay was an administrative assistant for General Electric in King of Prussia, PA, The Foote Mineral Company of Exton, PA, the Perley-Halladay Co. of Kimberton, PA and finally for Merck Pharmaceutical Company in West Point, PA. Kay had a great interest in European History & the history of the entertainment industry. She traveled with her husband to miniature golf courses and roller coasters all across the country. She was an avid reader and was involved in book club. She was known to call out injustice where she saw it and contributed to the Innocence Project. Surviving with her husband Gerald whom she was married to for the past 30 years she is survived by a brother William Ellis of Las Vegas, Nevada. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday evening November 28, 2017 at 7 P.M. from Warker-Troutman Funeral Home 726 East High St., Pottstown, PA with the Rev. Kay Bender Braun, pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, Pottstown, PA officiating. Her family will receive friends from 6-7 P.M. prior to her service at the funeral home.
