Karen Lee Brown, 58, beloved daughter of the late Darrel C. Brown, Sr. and Linda (Charles) Brown, was born on July 30, 1964, in Pottstown, PA. She departed this earthly realm to receive her heavenly reward on Friday, June 9, 2023.
She shared a loving and inseparable relationship of 16 years with her life companion, Angel Ocasio.
At a young age, Karen accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and was baptized by her grandfather, the late Rev. James Charles. She was a member of Rhema Ministries, Int'l "The Word Church" and served as head usher for 10 years under the leadership of her brother and Pastor Darrell C. Brown, Jr. She served with a spirit of excellence. She had a no-nonsense attitude when it came to church etiquette. If you walk down the center aisle while the Pastor is preaching, she'd put her finger up and send you in another direction. Overall, she had a warm, loving, and inviting spirit to those she greeted at the door. Her smile and the warmth of her spirit were genuine.
Above all, she loved the Lord and was not ashamed to praise God. Her shouts of "Amen" and effectual praise could be heard throughout the church. The Sunday prior to her departure from this life, she was in the house of the Lord, giving God her best praise.
Karen was educated in the Pottstown School District. She participated in track and field and played basketball. As a mother, she actively supported her children's sports activities, and her presence was known.
She enjoyed her stories: General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, and horror movies. She often turned her phone off because she didn't want to be interrupted while binge-watching the Lifetime Network.
Life of the party, that's who she was. She'd enter the room saying, "KB in the place to be!" She'd get on the dance floor and turn the place out. Her laughter was infectious. Despite her illness, she did not allow her pain to steal her joy. She always smiled and would laugh at just about anything. One of her favorite sayings was, "I ain't messing with you___."
She was a loving sister, aunt, mother of 5 children, grandmother, and loyal friend to many and always a joy to be around. She will truly be missed.
Karen leaves behind her memories to be cherish by, her life partner, Angel Ocasio; Children: Jasmine and Tasmine Brown, affectionately known as "the twins," Charles and Jaron Robinson, Andre Brown; Siblings: Darrell Brown Jr. (Marian)-Pottstown; Tracey Brown (Jenn)-Birdsboro; Leslie Brown (George)-Pottstown; Ever Shawell-Nashville, TN; Granddaughters: Jariah Robinson and Elianna Lee Brown and a host of nieces and nephews.
