June Smale

June Dawn Zink Smale, 91, of Pottstown, passed away on March 11, 2026. She was the widow of William J. "Dutch" Smale, Sr. Mrs. Smale was a fourth generation Pottstownian born on June 7, 1934 at 857 South Street to the late William N. Zink and M. Eleanor (Shellenberger) Zink Daub.

Mrs. Smale is survived by one son, William Jr., "Chip", and four daughters, Melinda wife of Michael Mace of Pottstown, Brenda, wife of William Irwin of Middletown, MD, Marcia, wife of Joseph Levengood of Pottstown, and Barbara, companion of Frank Kabilko, Pottstown. She is also survived by 4 granddaughters, Amelia, Amanda, Enjolie and Megan. Mrs. Smale was preceded in death by her siblings, William R. Zink of Albuquerque, NM, Albert R. Zink of Phoenixville., and E. Kathleen Paup of Pottstown.

Mrs. Smale was a graduate of Pottstown High School class of 1952. In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed for over 20 years in the Sanatoga Kmart.

Mrs. Smale was a member of Saint Aloysius Catholic Church, Board Member Rupert PTA for over 20 years, Member of Rupert PTA, Golden Sage volunteer for Pottstown School District, active member of the 6th ward Democratic Committee. She was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed listening to tunes on her player piano.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026 in Saint Aloysius Catholic Church, 213 N. Hanover Street, Pottstown. Viewing and visitation will be in the Gathering Center of the church from 10a.m. till 11a.m. on Friday, March 27.

Burial will follow Mass in Edgewood Cemetery, Pottstown.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Pottstown.
