Julia "Judy" Ann (Owsiany) McDonald, 71, wife of the late Mark James McDonald, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024 at the Reading Hospital.
She was a daughter of the late Leonard and Sarah (DieVart) Owsiany.
Julia was a devout Catholic known to volunteer with numerous organizations to help others; such as the Legion of Mary, Director of the National Coalition of Clergy and Laity, and served as a Republican Committee women.
Born and raised in Chester, Pa. She graduated in 1970 from Notre Dame High School in Moylan, Pa. Julia attended Widner University 1970-1973 and Delaware County Community College from 1973-1974. She was certified as a Medical Assistant from the National School of Health Technology in Philadelphia.
Above all, she was a devoted mother and Mom-mom. She is survived by two sons: Beau Jonathan McDonald and fiancé Makenzie Morgan and Kyle Christian McDonald and wife Flavia. Four daughters: Meghan Liana Wyly and husband Robert, Mary Estella Tomlinson and husband Samuel, Kaitlyn Gabrielle McDonald, and Julie Francis McDonald. Julia's siblings: Lenny Owsiany, Bob Owsiany (Janet), Jim Owsiany (Cindy), Mary Lou Laboy
(Ramon), Terry McHugh, Loretta Romo (Joe), Larry Owsiany and Chrissy Meier (Eric). Grandchildren: Trevor, Kyla, Ava, Ashlynn, Kaliana, Sara, Sean, Declan, James, William, Jade, Faustyna and Finnbar. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is predeceased by her brother LT. Commander Michael D. Owsiany and brother-in-law Craig McHugh.
A Liturgy will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Pottstown. A public viewing will be held prior to Mass from 9a.m. till 10a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Pottstown.
