Joyce Shillinger

Joyce M. (Mease) Shillinger , 96, widow of William A. Shillinger, Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 10, at Manatawny Manor. Born in Lebanon, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ida (Patches) Mease and George W. Mease. She was predeceased by brothers Victor J. and George A. Mease, both of Douglassville. As a teenager, Joyce performed dance and gymnastic routines locally and appeared with Shorty Long's Santa Fe Rangers. She enjoyed caring for her family, reading, embroidery, crocheting, singing and playing the piano. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Pottstown and worked in Manatawny Manor's housekeeping dept. and at Endicott Johnson's shoe store. Joyce is survived by her four children; Rosalie wife of Frank Zukauskas, Pottstown: Frank, husband of Mary, of Boyertown: William Jr. of Mount Holly, NJ: and Thomas, husband of Linda, of Bechtelsville; nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday January 16, at 10:30 am at the Warker-Troutman Funeral Home 726 High St. Pottstown. A viewing will be held Wednesday morning  from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park.
