Josephine K. Schmitt, 83, widow of Donald J. Schmitt, Sr. of Overlook Drive , Lower Pottsgrove Township passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Abington, PA she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Beatrice (Fleming) Kenny. Josephine had worked as an operator for Bell Telephone and as a school Secretary for Our Lady of Sorrows High School in Farmington, Michigan. She was a member of St. Aloysius R.C.C. Pottstown, PA, a former president and member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, St. Aloysius Rosary Group, St. Aloysius cleaners, St. Aloysius Church Greeters where she was a former leader and a member of the School Board of St. Aloysius Parish School. She was also a member of Pottstown Hospital Senior Circle. Josephine and her late husband were married for 53 years. She had been the primary caregiver for her late mother. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-mother. Surviving are five children Robert J. Schmitt husband of Luzia, Donald J. Schmitt, Jr. husband of Susan, Joanne S. wife of John Giese, Catherine wife of Richard Remick and John Schmitt husband of Jennifer . She is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and a brother Joseph "Buddy" Kenny husband of Ann and a sister Bernadette widow of Donald McDermott. Josephine was also pre-deceased by a son Stephen J. Schmitt. A viewing will be Wednesday evening April 24, 2013 from 7-9 P.M. from Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA . A viewing will also be held on Thursday morning April 25, 2013 from 10 – 11 A.M. in the Gathering Center of St. Aloysius R.C.C. followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. in St. Aloysius R.C.C. Beech and Hanover Streets, Pottstown, PA . with the Rev. Joseph L. Maloney, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA .
