Joseph E. Elias

Joseph E. Elias, 57, of Hill Road, Denver, PA and formerly of Pottstown, PA died Wednesday at his residence. Born in Pottstown, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas and Joanna (Chayson) Elias. Mr. Elias had worked as a laborer at various places of employment until his retirement in 1992. He was a former member of St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Cherry Street, Pottstown, PA. . Joe was an amateur Ham radio operator. Surviving , are six brothers Thomas Elias (Bonnie) of Wernersville, PA, David Elias of Phelps, NY, John Elias (Lola) of Boyertown, PA, Stephen Elias (Amy) of Waterloo, NY, James Elias (Lisa) of Douglassville, PA and Robert Elias of Mechanicsburg, PA. Also, four sisters Patricia Grupe of Philadelphia, PA, Mary Kreider (Leroy) Middleboro, MA, Kathleen Elias and Stephanie Supplee (Gary) both of Douglassville, PA and many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and a step-mother Cherie Elias of Reading, PA. He is also survived by his three cats Smokey, Cuddles and Veronica. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 301 Cherry Street, Pottstown, PA on Monday , October 3, 2011 at 10 A.M. Interment will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Lower Pottsgrove Township. A viewing will be Monday from 8:30 – 9:30 A.M. at Warker-Troutman Funeral Home with Parastas services at 9:15 A.M.
