John V Landis

John Victor Landis, 38, formerly of North Coventry, passed away of an illness on Thursday, December 16, 2021 in Phoenixville.

He was born on the Portuguese island of Terceira in the Azores on July 27, 1983. He came to America at the age of 1 ½ as the son of Carl and Sylvia Landis of North Coventry.

John was a 2002 graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School as well as CAT Pickering Vocational Tech School. While in high school he participated in the Navy ROTC program. He also participated in a bowling league at Jay Lanes for many years.

John was a member of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church in South Coventry.

John courageously met all the emotional, physical and medical challenges of his life's journey with support and encouragement from Creative Health Services in Pottstown and Elwyn in Elwyn, PA. John had many special gifts like a photographic memory and an uncanny perception of people. John was generous in enthusiastically giving hugs and high 5's and he was appreciative of people's attention. He was a very social person who enjoyed listening to Elvis, country and gospel music, bowling, playing cards and bingo.

At the time of John's passing, he was working at WaWa and living independently in Phoenixville, PA.

John is predeceased by his older brother Paul A. Landis who passed away in 2006.

John is survived by his parents, Carl and Sylvia Landis of Pottstown, nephew Gavyn Landis of Logan, Utah, and sisters Maria da Graca Coelho and Tania Amaral of Terceira Island, Azores.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St. Thomas More Church, 2101 Pottstown Pike, Pottstown, PA. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. prior to Mass at the church.

Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Farmington and Reynolds Avenues, Pottstown, PA
