John Michael Tornetta

John Michael Tornetta, 67, of North Coventry Township passed away in his sleep in his home after a lengthy illness on July 6, 2012. He was a loving husband for 43 years to Sally (DeStefano) Tornetta. Born in Norristown and raised in Jeffersonville, John was the son of the late Joseph Peter and the late Virginia (Genurardi) Tornetta. John graduated from Norristown High School and served in the US Army from 1965 to 1967. John is survived by a son Jason and daughter-in-law Jennifer (Babin) and granddaughter Jayda from Douglassville and a daughter Jonette and son-in-law Matthew Cardwell and grandchildren James, Mia and John from Missouri City, Texas. He was predeceased by a sister Mary Ann Jimenez. John is also survived by a brother Joseph Tornetta from Bally and sisters Carmella Sabre from Collegeville and Regina Sedor from Jeffersonville and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and Godchildren. John retired from St. Thomas More Parish in October 2012 and and was an active member of that parish and walked in a NeoCatechumenal Way community. He was a brother Knight of Columbus and a member of the Pottstown Elks. A Funeral Mass will be offered 10 am Wednesday July 11, 2012 in St. Thomas More RC Church route 100 and Cadmus Rd. S. Coventry Twp. Burial will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of John to St. Thomas More Church or to Catechumenum of Our Lady of Pillar for World Youth Day 2013.
