John Anthony Pol (JP), 68, loving husband to his wife Cheryl M. Palm, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family on January 8, 2026. Born on October 4, 1957 in Pottstown, Pa. to the late Gino J. Pol and Alice E. (Melley) Pol.
John learned his craftmanship and trade through his father and went on start Pol Contracting which he owned and operated for over 30 years. Also worked many years at Doehler Jarvis until it closed leaving him with lifelong friendships. He retired from Lehigh County Nursing Home as the Director of Operations and enjoyed spending his retirement with his loving wife.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who you could always count on to be there when you needed him and to lend a helping hand. He had many hobbies; hunting with close friends and his sons, fishing especially with his grands. He enjoyed every moment with his grandchildren; he was known to all of them as Poppy John. His favorite thing was date nights and happy hours with his vibrant wife. In his spare time, he loved fixing and building things around the house but especially critiquing someone else's "Craftmanship" because he was talented at his craft. Known to everyone who loved him as a grand storyteller and had the best moves "The Robot" on the dance floor.
Along with his wife, John leaves behind his memories to be cherished by his children: John C. Pol (wife Nancy), Jared Pol, Stephanie (Pol) Carter (husband Brian), bonus children Jason Slaybaugh (wife Tanya), and Amy (Palm) Sievers
(husband Matthew), sister Alicia (Pol) Wible (husband Troy), Nieces Gina and Alice. Sixteen grandchildren; Keara, Landon, Jaxton, Delaney, Ellisyn, Ryland, Cameron, Brayden, Angel, Camry, Talon, Robert, Angelina, Isabella, Ava, Jacob and great grandchildren Kaeden and Karston.
Including his parents, John is predeceased by Nana Alice E. Melley, his Uncle Louis Pol, Aunt Mary Longaker, Aunt Ellen Perkins, two brothers, Philip Pol and Gino Pol, and great grandson Krew.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please revisit website for future details.
