John J. Mckerns

John J. McKerns, Jr., 96, widower of Doris S. Scheirer, ( formerly of Tamaqua, PA) of Keystone Villa, Douglassville, PA and formerly of Spruce Street in Pottstown, PA died Friday October 26, 2012 in Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Mahanoy City, PA and a 1934 graduate of Mahanoy City High School , he was the son of the late John J. and Maria Theresa (Tanner) McKerns, Sr. Mr. McKerns had worked in the outside yard at the former Robinson Clay Products Co. of Pottstown. He was a member of St. Aloysius R.C.C. Pottstown, PA Surviving are two sons Thomas P. McKerns of Douglass Township, PA and James G. McKerns of Mahanoy City, PA . Also, two grandchildren Kathleen McKerns of Mahanoy City, PA and Kyle McKerns husband of Rebecca of Birdsboro, PA . Also, four great-grandchildren Emma McKerns, Paige and Jason Sivak and Karly McKerns. He is also survived by a brother Edward McKerns husband of Gladys of Lancaster, PA . Funeral services will be Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 10 A.M. from Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA with the Rev. Joseph L. Maloney, pastor of St. Aloysius R.C.C. officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:30 – 10 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery Laureldale, PA .
