John Ross Bucks

John Ross Bucks, 76, widower of June Elizabeth (Fillman) Bucks of Stowe, PA died Wednesday March 12, 2014 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Reading he was the son of the late Wilbur and Blodwyn Bucks.                    Mr. Bucks was an Oil Truck Driver for John Hartenstine Oil Co. and then for Dampman Oil Co. retiring in 1983. John was a social club member of Father Bally Council #1192 Knights of Columbus Hall and the West end Fire Co both of Stowe, PA, the Veteran's of Foreign Wars and the Phillies Fire Co. both of Pottstown, PA. He enjoyed playing shuffleboard and shooting pool at the clubs and watching the Philadelphia Eagles and wrestling and telling jokes.   He was also a volunteer fire police officer for the West End Fire Co. in Stowe, the Upper Pottsgrove Fire Co. and the Pottstown Fire Companies. Surviving is a daughter Diane Ziegler with whom he resided in Stowe, PA and a granddaughter Christina L. Gallardo. He is pre-deceased by a brother Wilbur Bucks and a sister Blodwyn Gerhart. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 22, 2014 at 1 P.M. from Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High Street, Pottstown, PA 19464. The family will receive friends on Saturday from Noon – 1 P.M. at the funeral home.     Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown, PA immediately following the service.
